Sustainable Society Foundation
Organisation

With the objective of stimulating and assisting societies in their development towards sustainability, the Sustainable Society Foundation - SSF - has been established as a private initiative by Geurt van de Kerk and Arthur Manuel (see biographies). The main activity of the Foundation until now has focussed on developing, publishing and maintaining the Sustainable Society Index (SSI). Furthermore, the Foundation is involved in various fields of promoting sustainability. As described earlier, the SSI integrates in an understandable way sustainability and quality of life, and shows at a glance the level of sustainability of 151 countries.
