- SSI-2006 The Sustainable Society Index - SSI - has been developed by Geurt van de Kerk and Arthur Manuel on behalf of the Sustainable Society Foundation. The SSI shows at a glance the level of sustainability of 151 countries. Many experts have contributed to developing the SSI. Download here.
- SSI-2008 The first two-yearly update to the SSI-2008 has been published December 2008. Download here.
- Evaluation and redesign SSI, 2010: Since the launch of the SSI, we gained valuable experiences with its use and received many suggestions. Also taking into account recent global developments, particularly those stimulated by the Stiglitz-Sen-Fitoussi report, we have evaluated the current SSI, which resulted in a redesign. A short note on the evaluation can be downloaded here.

SSI The Netherlands 1975 – 2008: The developments with respect to sustainability in The Netherlands have been measured along the 24 indicators of the (redesigned) SSI. The results have been presented at the ESDN Conference in Ghent, July 2010. Download here the full report.
- Romania, on its way to a sustainable society. Under the supervision of the Sustainable Society Foundation this project is being executed by the Romanian consultancy firm, Green Partners , in close cooperation with the Romanian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MESD), the Romanian National Environment Protection Agency (NEPA) and the National Institute of Statistics (NIS). Financial support to the project has been provided by Matra, the programme for societal transformation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Netherlands. June 2008 the SSI-Romania-2008 has been presented.

- SSI on regional level. A tailor made index on regional level has been developed for the eight regions of Romania. The results were presented mid 2009.

- INHOLLAND University, INHOLLAND University developed in close cooperation with SSF a sustainability index for Greenhouse Culture, based on the SSI. The first draft has been tested successfully among 12 firms. An extended test is now being undertaken among 70 firms, in cooperation with the trade organisation LTO Nederland (ZUID).
- Courses: SSF has contributed to various courses. Among these were lectures and workshops on Introduction to Sustainable Development and on the Economic pillar of SD, for courses of the REC Center (Hungary) in Budva, Montenegro, May 2009 and May 2010.
